Crédit Agricole Transitions & Énergies, the majority subscriber to the CA Energie & Economie Bas Carbone Fund (“CA 2EBC”), managed by IDIA Capital Investissement, announces its first equity investment in VALOREM.

Crédit Agricole Transitions & Énergies, which supports and facilitates the environmental transition of Crédit Agricole Group customers, announces an equity investment by the CA 2EBC Fund – managed by IDIA Capital Investissement, alongside the historical shareholders* and a pool of investors from the Crédit Agricole Group**, AIP Management, and Bpifrance – in VALOREM, an independent French operator and a pioneer in the renewable energy sector in France.

Founded in 1994, VALOREM has developed and financed nearly 900 MW of renewable energy assets and has a portfolio totalling 7.5 GW of projects under development. A pioneer of wind energy in France, with close to 500 employees, VALOREM is also active in Finland, Greece, Poland, and Sweden. This transaction strengthens the long-standing relationship with the Crédit Agricole Group, which has been actively supporting VALOREM (a mission-driven company since 2022) through its various financing and equity entities since 2007.

Launched in 2024, the CA 2EBC fund aims to support the growth of energy transition stakeholders across local communities, fully contributing to the Crédit Agricole Group’s societal project ambitions for a low carbon economy.

“This equity investment in VALOREM, a long-standing partner of the Crédit Agricole Group, illustrates our determination to support renewable energy market stakeholders in their growth. The launch of the “Energie & Economie Bas Carbone” fund expands the range of Crédit Agricole Transitions & Énergies’ tools in support of the expansion of the renewable energy sector across our regions”, said Jean-Paul Duhamel, Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Agricole Transitions & Énergies.

“We are very proud to support VALOREM by strengthening the long-standing equity relationship with the Crédit Agricole Group, with the backing of regional co-investors that demonstrate the collective strength of the Crédit Agricole Group in serving entrepreneurs and the energy transition”, said Manuel Leal, Chief Executive Officer of IDIA Capital Investissement.
