TECHNIQUE SOLAIRE ANNOUNCES €302 MILLION DEBT FINANCING TO BUILD 341 NEW PROJECTS

  • €302 million financing provided by Bpifrance, Crédit Agricole Group, and Société Générale
  • Construction of 341 projects across France, Spain, and the Netherlands, with a total capacity of 240 MWp
  • Largest senior debt financing ever raised by the Group
  • Strengthened commitment to the energy transition with a €75,000 donation to the Synergie Renouvelable endowment fund

Poitiers – Biard, 24 April 2025 – The Technique Solaire group, an independent renewable energy producer serving the energy and agricultural transition, has secured €302 million in senior debt financing from its
partners, Bpifrance, Crédit Agricole Transitions & Energies alongside Crédit Agricole Group banks0F , and
Société Générale. This financing will enable Technique Solaire to construct a portfolio of 341 photovoltaic solar projects with a total installed capacity of 240 MWp. This transaction represents the largest debt financing in the Group’s history in terms of both amount raised and project capacity financed.

A pan-European project portfolio

For the first time, this financing will support the construction of a pan-European project portfolio, including 185 MWp in France, distributed across much of the metropolitan territory, 32 MWp in Spain, and 23 MWp in the Netherlands. Construction of these facilities will begin primarily in 2025, with the remaining projects scheduled for 2026 and 2027.
The types of projects financed showcase Technique Solaire’s broad expertise in photovoltaics: agricultural barns, climate-controlled shelters, aviaries, greenhouses, ground-mounted solar parks and floating solar parks, with a majority of projects under regulated tariffs.

A new milestone in Technique Solaire’s growth strategy

This new debt financing supports Technique Solaire’s growth strategy and aligns with its ambition to mobilise €4 billion by 2030 to reach 4 GWp of solar energy production. The Group currently has over 1 GWp of capacity either in operation or under construction, spread across France, India, the Netherlands, and Spain.

This new financing follows previous senior debt raises of €160 million in 2022, €125 million in 2023, and
€224 million in 2024, which respectively funded the construction of 135 MWp, 81 MWp, and 162 MWp.
Technique Solaire also raised €200 million in equity in 2023 to continue implementing its strategy.

With the resources provided by these structuring operations, Technique Solaire positions itself as a key player seeking to expand its footprint in its various markets through:

  • Organic developments, and
  • An ambitious M&A strategy.

Donation to Synergie Renouvelable

As part of this transaction, Technique Solaire and certain partners are bolstering their commitment to the
development of renewable energy by donating €75,000 to Synergie Renouvelable. This charitable endowment fund serves as a bridge between NGOs and corporates. The donation will support NGOs carrying out humanitarian projects aimed at improving access to energy worldwide.

Lionel Themine, Co-Founder and CFO, and Édouard Dazard, Investment Director, said:
“This new €302 million debt issue, a record for Technique Solaire, will enable us to construct 341 projects and thus execute our growth strategy in France and internationally. It represents another key milestone in achieving our ambitious development targets, supporting both the energy and agricultural transitions. Through this transaction, we are pleased to (i) strengthen our ties with our long-standing partners, Bpifrance and Crédit Agricole Group, and (ii) expand our banking partner pool to include Société Générale as a lender and La Banque Postale as hedging bank. We sincerely thank all four institutions for their support and confidence in our vision; a confidence that validates the relevance of our business model, even in a complex economic and regulatory environment.”

Pascale Courcelle, Director of Real Estate, Energy & Environment Financing and Structured Financing at
Bpifrance
, said:
“Technique Solaire is pursuing an ambitious trajectory in deploying renewable energy production facilities in France and internationally. We are proud to regularly support the scaling up of this ambition. This large-scale, pan-European transaction, carried out alongside banking partners, fully aligns with Bpifrance’s initiatives as the “Climate Bank” to accelerate the energy transition and decarbonise the economy.”

Christine Delamarre, Deputy General Manager of Crédit Agricole Transitions & Énergies, said:
“The Crédit Agricole Group is one of Technique Solaire’s long-standing partners, and we are very proud to support them once again through a significant, pan-European financing for project execution. The donation to Synergie Renouvelable, linked to this financing, reinforces the project’s solidarity dimension by supporting initiatives that provide access to energy in the most vulnerable areas. Crédit Agricole Transitions & Énergies, together with Crédit Agricole Regional Banks, is accelerating the energy transition in the regions through initiatives that benefit their customers.”

Nicolas Lorinet, Head of the French Renewable Energy Market at Société Générale, said:
“We are proud to support the continued development of Technique Solaire and to play an active role in financing their extensive project portfolio. The energy transition is at the heart of Société Générale’s ambitions, and at the end of 2024, the bank set a new target of €500 billion in contributions to sustainable finance by 2030.”
